Sia 2232.0532.0100 Siaflex 1948 6 Inch FiboTec Disc, 100 Grit

The Sia 2232.0532.0100 is a 6 inch (150 mm) Siaflex 1948 hook and loop sanding disc in 100 grit with the FiboTec 59 DH multi-hole pattern, sold 100 discs per box. It uses aluminum oxide grain with a stearate coating on a flexible latex paper backing, and Sia rates the 1948 line as highly flexible and suited to both dry and wet sanding.

Where 100 Grit Fits

100 grit is a coarse to medium grit for levelling, removing old finish, shaping body filler and taking out deeper marks. Follow it with 150 or 180, then a finer grit before finishing. The multi-hole pattern lets the disc extract on many 6 inch pads, which helps keep the abrasive clear.

Who Uses It

Sia lists the 1948 line for automotive, aerospace and building interior work: flatting body filler and primer filler, keying lacquers and primers, and sanding wood, paint, composites, aluminum and steel. It runs on random orbital sanders and by hand.

Tips for Longer Disc Life

Use light, even pressure and keep the pad flat. Connect dust extraction, clean the surface between grits, and replace the disc once it stops cutting. When sanding wet, rinse the disc often to clear slurry. Store boxes flat in a dry place so the discs stay flat and the hook and loop backing stays clean.
