Festool logo, Festool tools in Calgary at IBEX

Festool tools in Calgary · Festool-compatible Sia consumables · shipped across Canada

Festool sanders are the most precise tools in the trade — and they only work right with the right consumables. IBEX Enterprises stocks Festool tools — sanders, CLEANTEC dust extractors and Domino joinery — plus the Festool-compatible Sia Siaspeed 1950 disc line in a full grit range. If you run a Festool ETS, RO, or ETS EC, this is your one-stop catalog for Festool tools and the consumables that fit them.

Why Festool tools buyers shop with us

The 49-hole pattern is engineered, not approximated. The Sia Siaspeed 1950 line is the Festool-compatible disc family we stock, and it’s there because the hole alignment matches Festool’s CT-series dust extractors precisely — you keep full suction performance through the disc’s life. Cheaper “Festool-pattern” discs from no-name brands lose 30–40% of suction within an hour because the holes don’t align with the backing pad’s vacuum channels.

Full grit range, always in stock. From 40 grit (initial stock removal) to 1500 grit (between-coat finishing on automotive clearcoat), we stock the full Siaspeed 1950 grit ladder.

Western Canada speed. Most Festool dealers in Canada ship from Ontario or Quebec. We ship from Calgary, so Western Canada gets it faster than ordering from out east.

There is also an edge-sanding attachment for the ETS 125 REQ.

Festool Granat abrasives (specialized)

For specialized jobs we also list a small range of Festool Granat abrasives: 225 mm Granat discs with the 128-hole Multi-Jetstream pattern in P80, P120, P150, P180 and P220 (25 per pack), and Granat P80 delta sheets (7-hole StickFix, 10 per box) for the DTS 400 and DS 400 delta sanders. Setting up Festool tools for dust-free sanding

A Festool sander does its best work as part of a system: the sander, the right pad, a disc with the matching hole pattern, and a CT extractor on the other end of the hose. Here is the setup we put together most often for shops buying Festool tools for the first time.

  • Sander: an ETS EC 150/3 for general finishing on flat panels, or an ETS 125 REQ if you want something lighter for overhead and vertical work.
  • Pad: the hard pad for flat surfaces and crisp edges, the soft pad for general work, and an interface pad when you are sanding curves or profiles.
  • Abrasive: Sia Siaspeed in the hole pattern that matches the pad, in a ladder of four or five grits for your material.
  • Extraction: a CT extractor such as the CT 36, a 3.5 m hose, and a spare pack of filter bags so a full bag never stops the job.

If you already own some of these pieces, tell us what you have and we will fill the gaps instead of selling you a full kit.

Choosing Festool guide rails and saw blades

Rail length. A 42-inch rail handles shorter crosscuts and shelving. A 55-inch rail covers a full crosscut across a 4-foot sheet of plywood or MDF. The 75-inch rail is for longer rips, and two rails joined with the FSV connector give you a straight cut along a full 8-foot sheet. The FSK 420 rail is the short cross-cutting rail for the HK series circular saws, with angle settings from −45° to +60°.

Tooth count. Fewer teeth cut faster and clear chips better, so the 12-tooth blades are for ripping solid wood. Mid counts (28 to 42 teeth) are good general-purpose blades for wood and sheet goods. High counts and TCG (triple-chip) grinds, like the 48- and 52-tooth 160 mm blades, give the cleanest edge on laminate, veneered panels and solid surface. Match the blade diameter and bore to your saw before ordering.

Splinterguards. A fresh splinterguard on the rail or saw is the cheapest way to get a tear-out-free edge again. We stock replacement guards for the FS rails, the TS 55 EQ and TS 75 EQ, the TS 55 R, TS 55 F, TSC 55 and TSC 55 K, and the PS 300 and PSB 300 jigsaws.

Hard, soft or ultra-soft: picking a sanding pad

The pad changes how the abrasive meets the work. A hard pad keeps the disc flat, so it is the choice for flat panels, veneer and crisp edges where you do not want to round anything over. A soft pad is the everyday all-rounder. An ultra-soft pad or an interface pad lets the disc wrap gently over curves, mouldings and turned parts. Most shops running Festool tools keep a hard and a soft pad for each sander and swap them as the job changes.

Grit guide for Festool tools

  • Initial stock removal: RO 150 + Siaspeed 40–60 — reclaim, weathered wood, paint stripping
  • Smoothing: RO 150 + Siaspeed 80–120 — after heavy removal, before fine sanding
  • Pre-finish prep on hardwood: ETS EC 150 + Siaspeed 150–180 — furniture and cabinets before stain
  • Final pre-stain / pre-paint: ETS EC 150 + Siaspeed 220 — maximum grit before finish on wood
  • Between-coat (waterborne lacquer): ETS EC 150 + Siaspeed 320–400 — de-nibbing between coats
  • Auto-body primer prep: ETS EC 150 + Siaspeed 320–600 — color-coat-ready primer surface
  • Auto-body color sanding: ETS EC 150 + Siaspeed 1000–1500 — removing dust nibs in clearcoat before polishing

The general rule: never skip more than one grit step. Going 80 → 220 leaves scratches the next coat won’t fill; 80 → 120 → 180 → 220 is the safe progression.

Frequently asked questions

Where does IBEX source its Festool tools?

We stock Festool tools sourced through the Canadian Festool distribution network. For tools not in our regular inventory, we can typically order them from Festool Canada — call and we’ll confirm current lead time.

Which discs do you recommend for Festool sanders?

For everyday work on Festool tools, most of our customers run the Sia Siaspeed 1950 line, built to the Festool 49-hole pattern. For specialized jobs we also list Festool Granat 225 mm discs and delta sheets. Tell us what you are sanding and we will suggest a grit ladder.

Do these discs work on Mirka sanders too?

Yes. The 49-hole Festool pattern is also the Mirka DEROS and CEROS pattern — the same disc fits both.

Do you stock Festool dust extractors and filters in Calgary?

Yes — we carry the CLEANTEC CT extractors and replacement filters. Call with the part number for anything not on the shelf.

What about the Festool RO 90 (small triangular sander)?

Use 5″ / 125 mm Siaspeed 1950 in round mode. For the triangular delta head, you need triangular sheets — call us with the grit you need.

Do you stock Festool batteries and cords?

Yes. We carry the 18V 3.1 Ah and 18V 3.0 Ah batteries and the Plug-It replacement power cord that fits every Festool tool with a Plug-It connector.

Which filter bags fit my CT extractor?

It depends on the model and year. The CT MINI, CT MIDI and CT 15 made from 2019 onward use one bag, the CT MIDI made until 2018 uses another, and the CT 26 and CT 48 each have their own. Send us the model on the label and we will confirm the right bag.

Do DOMINO tenons fit both joiners?

The 8 × 50 mm and 10 × 50 mm tenons and the 8 mm and 10 mm tenon stock work with both the DF 500 and the DF 700. The longer and thicker sizes are for the DOMINO XL DF 700 only. The quick reference table above lists each size.

Can you order Festool tools you do not list?

Often, yes. Call us with the part number and we will check whether it can be ordered in and confirm availability and lead time.

Can I see Festool tools in Calgary before I buy?
