Sia 5163.3687.2000 Siaair 7940 6 Inch Disc, 2000 Grit
The Sia 5163.3687.2000 is a 6 inch (150 mm) Siaair 7940 foam sanding disc in 2000 grit, sold 10 discs per box. 2000 grit is an ultra-fine grit for polishing prep. The disc combines aluminium oxide abrasive with a knitted fabric and a pressure-equalising foam backing, so it follows contours, curves and profiles and leaves a low scratch depth.

Where 2000 Grit Fits
Use 2000 as a final sanding step before polishing on many paint systems, or as a step between 1500 and 3000. The finer the last scratch, the less work the polisher has to do. The Siaair range runs from 240 to 4000, so one system covers the whole job from primer to polish.
Who Uses It
Automotive refinishers, aerospace and composite shops, boat builders working with gelcoat and solid surface fabricators use the Sia 5163.3687.2000 for final sanding before polishing. Sia lists it for lacquers, paints, plastics, acrylic glass, gelcoat and composites. It is not suited to glass, ceramic lacquers or stone.
Tips for Best Results
Keep the disc and the surface damp, as Sia recommends, and rinse the disc when slurry builds up. Use light, even pressure and keep the sander flat so the foam can spread the load. Wash the disc out after the job and let it dry flat; Siaair discs are washable and can be used many times.
