Sia 5706.9694.0220 Siaspeed 1950 5 Inch PSA Disc, 220 Grit
The Sia 5706.9694.0220 is a 5 inch pressure-sensitive adhesive sanding disc from the Sia 1950 siaspeed line in 220 grit, supplied 100 discs per roll. It sticks directly to a PSA pad on orbital and random orbital sanders and is made for dry sanding on wood, metal, paint and composite surfaces.

Where 220 Grit Fits
Use 220 grit for sanding primer filler, smoothing sealer coats and final prep on bare wood. From 220 up, Sia uses an open coating on this line to reduce clogging. Work up from 150 or 180 to 220, then 320 or 400 between coats. Moving one grade at a time keeps each disc working on the scratch it was made for and saves time overall.
Who Uses It
Sia positions siaspeed for high stock removal, low abrasive consumption and long life on body filler, primer filler, lacquers and paints. Automotive refinishers, woodworking and cabinet shops and metal finishing departments use the Sia 5706.9694.0220 on PSA sanders where a roll of discs at the bench keeps changes quick.
Tips for PSA Discs
Peel the disc from the roll, center it on a clean, dry pad and press it down firmly so the whole face bonds. A pad with old adhesive or dust on it will not hold well, so clean it when you change discs. Use light, even pressure and let the abrasive cut; pressing harder mostly creates heat and loads the disc. Remove a worn disc right away, as PSA can leave residue if it is left on a hot pad for a long time. Store the roll in a cool, dry place away from direct sun so the adhesive stays fresh.
