Sia 6414.2885.0400 Sialac 1748 9 x 11 Inch Sheets, 400 Grit
The Sia 6414.2885.0400 is a pack of 50 Sia 1748 Sialac sanding sheets in 400 grit, sized 9 x 11 inch (230 x 280 mm). Sialac is made for surface preparation before lacquering and polishing, with silicon carbide grain on a flexible paper backing and a stearate top coat that resists clogging.

Where 400 Grit Fits
400 is the finest grit in this range. Use it for sanding between final lacquer coats and for keying primer under high-gloss finishes. Step up from 320 for the cleanest result. Sia rates the 1748 line for very good surface quality on PU, NC, UV, water-based, polyester and acrylic lacquers and primer coats.
Who Uses It
Cabinet and furniture finishers, millwork and kitchen shops, painters and refinishers working with primer, body filler, plastics and solid surface use the Sia 6414.2885.0400 for consistent, fine sanding by hand or on a block. Full sheets can be folded, torn or cut to size for the job.
Tips for Best Results
Back the sheet with a block on flat surfaces so you do not dish the finish, and use your fingers only on profiles. Keep pressure light and let the stearate coat do its job; when the sheet loads up or stops cutting, move to a fresh area or a new sheet. Dust the surface off between grits and between coats so loose particles do not scratch the next pass. Store sheets flat in a dry place.
