Sia 7285.4325.0040 Siaflex 1948 6 Inch Disc, 40 Grit
The Sia 7285.4325.0040 is a 1948 siaflex 6 inch (150 mm) hook and loop sanding disc in P40 grit, packed 50 discs to a box. Siaflex 1948 is Sia’s flexible all-round line for wet and dry sanding, and this coarse grit is a good choice for heavy stock removal and coating removal.

Where It Fits in the Grit Sequence
P40 is the coarsest grit in this IBEX range. Use it for heavy removal: stripping old coatings, flatting rough body filler and levelling uneven surfaces. Follow with P60 or P80 to take out the deep P40 scratches before you move to finer grits.
Who Uses It
Sia lists 1948 siaflex for automotive refinishing, aerospace and building interior work, with use in truck, rail, marine and kitchen shops as well. It sands body filler, primer filler, paint, old and new lacquer, plastics, GRP and composites, aluminum, steel and wood. Run the Sia 7285.4325.0040 on a random orbital or orbital sander with a 6 inch hook and loop pad.
Tips for Best Results
Keep pressure light and let the abrasive cut, so the disc stays flat and the scratch stays even. Do not skip more than one grit step at a time. When wet sanding, keep the surface wet and wipe off the slurry often to check progress. Replace the disc as soon as it stops cutting cleanly, because a worn disc only polishes and builds heat. Store boxes flat in a dry place so the discs do not curl.
