Sia 8286.8318.0100 Siaspeed 1950 5 Inch 8-Hole Disc, 100 Grit

The Sia 8286.8318.0100 is a 5 inch (125 mm) Sia 1950 siaspeed hook and loop disc in 100 grit with an 8-hole dust extraction pattern, packed 100 discs per box. This medium grade is used for smoothing after 80 grit, feathering repair edges and preparing panels for primer. Siaspeed is Sia’s all-round paper disc, built for a high removal rate, a good surface finish and long life.

Fit and Grit Sequence

The disc mounts on any 5 inch hook-face pad with a matching 8-hole pattern. Line the holes up with the pad so the extractor can pull dust through the disc. Good extraction keeps the disc cutting longer and the work surface cleaner. Move to 120 or 150 grit next, depending on how fine the surface needs to be before coating. Work through the grits in order and do not skip more than one step.

Sia lists siaspeed for surface work on body filler, primer filler, lacquers and paints. Auto body and refinishing shops use it for filler and primer work. Furniture, cabinet and millwork shops use it on lacquered panels and solid surface material. It is a common choice where one disc line needs to cover a full grit sequence on the same sander.

Tips for Best Results

Run the sander flat and keep pressure light. Tilting the pad digs the edge in and leaves swirl marks. Check the hook-face pad from time to time, since a worn pad will not hold the disc firmly. Change discs when the cut slows instead of pushing harder. Keep boxes sealed and dry so the paper stays flat.
