The Sia 9967.9911.3000 is a 6 inch Sia 7240 siacarat diamond sanding disc in 3000 grit, sold individually. It is built for matt finishing and refining very hard and scratch-resistant surfaces, with diamond grain on a knitted fabric and foam backing that equalizes pressure and helps prevent cutting through on edges and contours.

Where 3000 Grit Fits

3000 grit is the finest grade in the 7240 siacarat range. Use it as the last sanding step before polishing high-gloss surfaces, and for very fine matt finishing on scratch-resistant lacquer and composites. Sia states that the best results come from damp sanding, and that the disc resists clogging and silicone remover and can be reused many times.

Who Uses It

Sia lists siacarat for scratchproof lacquer, standard lacquer, solid surface material, composites, acrylic glass and plastics. Automotive refinishers, aerospace finishing shops and solid surface and interior fabricators use the Sia 9967.9911.3000 where conventional abrasives wear out quickly on hard coatings. It is not made for glass or stone.

Tips for Use and Care

Mount the disc centered on a 6 inch hook and loop pad and keep the surface lightly wet. Use light, even pressure; the foam backing does the work of following the shape, so there is no need to push. Keep the pad flat on panels and let it ride over edges rather than tipping onto them. Rinse the disc during and after use, let it dry, and store it flat so the hook and loop face stays clean for the next job.
