Sia 0070.1243.01 7983 Siasponge Flex Pad, Ultrafine

The Sia 0070.1243.01 is a 7983 siasponge flex pad in Ultrafine grade, colour coded blue, supplied in a box of 10 pads. It is a flexible foam sanding pad made with an extra-soft polyurethane foam, aluminum oxide grain and an elastic binder, so it follows curves, profiles and contours where a hard block cannot. The ultrafine grade is suited to the most delicate finishing work: matting and scuffing lacquers, intermediate sanding between coats and fine prep on plastics and primer filler.

Where It Fits

Use siasponge flex after the main surfaces are sanded with discs or sheets, on the parts a machine cannot follow: mouldings, edges, curved panels, spindles and recessed areas. The colour coding makes it easy to pick the right grade from the shelf. Fine is the coarsest of these three grades, Superfine sits in the middle and Ultrafine is the finest.

Automotive refinishers, aerospace and marine finishers, cabinet and kitchen shops and window and door makers use the Sia 0070.1243.01 for keying, scuffing and fine sanding on curved and profiled parts. The 10-pad box suits smaller jobs and mobile work.

Tips for Use and Care

Hold the pad flat in your hand and let it wrap the profile. Use light, even pressure; the foam does the work of spreading the load. When sanding wet, rinse the pad often to clear the slurry. When sanding dry, tap or blow the dust out. Let a wet pad dry before storing it. Replace it when the abrasive face is worn smooth or the foam tears.
