The Sia 6783.7705.0080 is a 5 inch Siaspeed 1950 hook and loop sanding disc in 80 grit, sold 100 discs per box. Siaspeed 1950 is sia Abrasives’ all-round line for lacquer, hard and soft wood, primer filler, body filler, solid surface material and plastics. This 80 grit disc is suited to levelling body filler, removing old finish and taking out machining marks on bare wood.

Where 80 Grit Fits
80 is a common first grit on filler and on rough wood. It removes material quickly but still leaves a scratch that 120 or 150 can take out. Step to 100 or 120 next. Do not skip more than one grit at a time. Each step should fully remove the scratches from the step before, or they will show through the finish later.
Who Uses It
Automotive refinishers, cabinet and furniture shops, millwork shops and solid surface fabricators use the Sia 6783.7705.0080 on 5 inch random orbital sanders. It fits any 5 inch hook and loop pad. Because this disc has no holes, it suits sanders without through-pad extraction, or jobs where you want the full abrasive face in contact.
Tips for Better Results
Let the coarse grit do the work. Heavy pressure slows the sander and builds heat, which can glaze the disc and burn wood. Keep the pad flat, keep the sander moving and check the surface often so you do not remove more than you need. Change the disc when it stops cutting rather than pushing harder. Store boxes flat and dry so the backing stays flat on the pad.
