Where 40 Grit Fits

Use it for stripping heavy coatings, knocking down high spots and rough shaping of body filler. It leaves deep scratches, so follow with 60 or 80 grit before moving into the finer range. The hook and loop back fits 6 inch random orbital and orbital sander pads, and the disc also works on a 6 inch hand block. A solid disc has no holes to line up, so it suits pads without extraction holes.

Tips for Better Results

Keep the pad flat and the pressure light, and let the abrasive cut. Do not skip more than one grit step, and wipe or vacuum the surface between grits so loose grit does not scratch the next stage. This disc is made for dry sanding only, so do not use it with water. Change the disc as soon as it stops cutting cleanly, and store boxes flat in a dry place so the paper stays flat.
