This 6 inch, 1000 grit Siaspeed 1950 hook and loop sanding disc is part number Sia 7332.9183.1000.
It is a solid disc on a flexible latex paper backing, sold 50 discs per box. Siaspeed 1950 is a versatile all-round line from Sia, made to give a uniform, high quality scratch pattern that polishes well.

Where 1000 Grit Fits
Use it to remove orange peel and dust inclusions in clear coat and other high-gloss finishes. Step to 1200 or 1500 grit before polish. The hook and loop back fits 6 inch random orbital and orbital sander pads, and the disc also works on a 6 inch hand block. A solid disc has no holes to line up, so it suits pads without extraction holes.
Who Uses It
Auto body and refinishing shops, cabinet and furniture makers, painters and composite fabricators use Siaspeed 1950 discs. Sia lists the line for body filler, primer filler, paint, lacquer, solid surface material, plastics, GRP composites and hard and soft wood.
Tips for Better Results
Keep the pad flat and the pressure light, and let the abrasive cut. Do not skip more than one grit step, and wipe or vacuum the surface between grits so loose grit does not scratch the next stage. This disc is made for dry sanding only, so do not use it with water. Change the disc as soon as it stops cutting cleanly, and store boxes flat in a dry place so the paper stays flat.
