VSM 115814 KV707T Non-Woven Belt, 1 x 30 Inch, Medium

The VSM 115814 is a VSM KV707T non-woven surface conditioning belt, 1 x 30 inch, in medium grade (red), sold as a single belt. KV707T is made of aluminum oxide grain in a full-resin bonded non-woven web on a semi-sturdy T-polyester backing. It is built for deburring, cleaning and finishing metal without cutting deep.

How It Works

The open non-woven web adapts to the shape of the workpiece and gives a consistent scratch pattern. VSM states it does not clog and has a long service life. The semi-sturdy backing conforms to the part and allows cooling lubricant, so it can be used for wet grinding. VSM designs it for low to medium pressure. The 1 x 30 inch size suits belt file sanders such as the Dynafile. Pair it with the coarse grade when you need a second step.

Who Uses It

VSM lists KV707T for deburring, rust removal, cleaning, removing grinding grooves and old paint, and final surface finishing. It is developed for stainless steel, unalloyed steel and non-ferrous metal, and also suits aluminum, composites and lacquer. Fabricators, welders and maintenance shops use it to blend welds, clean tube and edges, and give parts an even finish.

Tips for Best Results

Keep pressure light. Non-woven belts work best when the web does the cutting, and heavy pressure only shortens belt life. Keep the tool moving to avoid heat marks on stainless. Check the direction arrow before mounting. Replace the belt once the web is worn thin or stops giving an even finish. Store belts flat and dry.
