The Festool 205560 is the HW 160×1.8×20 W28 wood universal saw blade from Festool, a 160 mm carbide-tipped blade with 28 teeth and a 20 mm bore. It is made for both rip cuts and cross-cuts in solid wood, plywood, MDF, HDF, chipboard and multilayer panels. The thin kerf removes less material, which means less waste and less load on the saw motor.

Getting Clean Cuts

For show edges in veneer, switch to a fine cut blade; for heavy ripping in thick solid wood, a rip blade cuts faster. Use the guide rail splinter guard or a sacrificial backer where the saw allows it,. Keep the blade clean of resin and pitch, because build-up makes the teeth run hot and dull faster. Remove the battery or unplug the saw before changing blades. When the Festool 205560 starts to burn, wander or need more push than usual, it is time to have it sharpened or replaced.
