The Festool 205772 is the HW 168×1.8×20 WD42 wood fine cut saw blade from Festool, a 168 mm carbide-tipped blade with 42 teeth and a 20 mm bore. It is made for fine cross-cutting in solid wood, veneered panels and MDF. The thin kerf removes less material, which means less waste and less load on the saw motor.

Getting Clean Cuts

A fine cut blade has many teeth, so feed at a steady, moderate rate. Pushing too fast loads each tooth and can leave marks; feeding too slowly can burn the edge. Use the guide rail splinter guard or a sacrificial backer where the saw allows it,. Keep the blade clean of resin and pitch, because build-up makes the teeth run hot and dull faster. Remove the battery or unplug the saw before changing blades. When the Festool 205772 starts to burn, wander or need more push than usual, it is time to have it sharpened or replaced.
