The Festool 485724 is the FS-HU 10M adhesive cushion strip, a 10 m roll of replacement grip strip for the underside of Festool guide rails. It keeps the rail from slipping, even on smooth materials, and protects the workpiece surface under the rail.

Why Replace the Strip

Worn, torn or missing grip strips are a common cause of rail creep, where the rail shifts slightly during a cut and the edge comes out off-line. Fresh strips restore the grip so the rail stays put on melamine, veneer and finished panels, often without clamps.

How to Fit It

Peel off the old strip and clean the groove so no adhesive or dust is left. Cut the new strip to the rail length, peel the backing and press it firmly into the groove along its full length. Let the adhesive settle before heavy use. One roll covers several rails.

Keeping the Grip

Dust and resin on the strips reduce grip quickly. Wipe the underside of the rail with a dry cloth before each job, and avoid solvents that can soften the rubber or the adhesive. Inspect the strips whenever the rail starts to feel loose on smooth panels.
