Where It Fits

Slide the clamp head into the groove under the guide rail or cross-cutting rail and tighten it against the workpiece, so the rail cannot move during the cut. On an MFT/3 or in a mobile workshop, the same clamps hold workpieces down for routing, drilling and sanding. They also fasten sections on semi-stationary saws such as the CS 50/70 and KS/KSC 60.

Who Uses It

Cabinet makers, finish carpenters and installers use the Festool 489570 for angled rail cuts, narrow parts and any cut where the rail grip strips alone are not enough. For thick stock or stacked parts, step up to the FSZ 300 with its longer reach.

Use and Care

Tighten only as much as needed to stop movement; overtightening can mark soft wood and flex thin panels. Keep the threads free of dust and glue, and check the protective caps from time to time. Replace a worn cap so the clamp does not mark finished surfaces, and store the clamps where they will not be dropped or bent.
