Description

The Festool 493491 is a 6 mm carbide-tipped DOMINO cutter (model D 6-NL 28 HW) for the Festool DF 500 DOMINO joiner. It routs the exact mortise that accepts 6 mm DOMINO tenons, giving tight, square, repeatable loose-tenon joints.

Cutting 6 mm wide by 28 mm deep, it’s the size for lighter, more detailed work — small cabinet doors, drawer parts, narrow rails, picture frames and box joinery — where a thinner tenon suits thinner stock. Spiral flutes clear chips for a clean, low-tear-out mortise, and the internally threaded shank changes over fast on the DF 500. Tungsten-carbide edges last through long runs and dense hardwood (Festool rates roughly 5,000–14,000 joints depending on material).
