The Lamello 6100301 is the Invis Mx2 MiniMag, the compact magnetic driver for the Lamello Invis Mx2 connector system, supplied with a screw bit. Mounted in a standard cordless drill, the MiniMag creates a rotating magnetic field that turns the screw inside the Mx2 connector. That lets you close and open fully invisible, detachable joints with no access hole on the finished face.

How It Works

The Invis Mx2 connector halves are set into the two parts so nothing shows once the joint is closed. Hold the MiniMag on the outside face over the connector and run the drill. The magnetic field turns the connector screw and pulls the joint tight. Reverse the drill to open the joint again, so parts can be taken apart for moving, service or replacement. The clear casing shows which way the magnet is turning, which helps you confirm you are tightening and not loosening.

Who Uses It

Invis Mx2 is used where a visible fitting would spoil the look, such as high-gloss furniture, molded components, staircases and architectural millwork. Cabinet makers, furniture builders and installers keep a MiniMag with their Invis connectors so joints can be assembled on site and taken apart later.

Tips for Use

Mark connector positions on the back or inside of the part so you can find them later when the joint needs to be opened. Start the drill slowly and keep the MiniMag steady and square to the surface. Keep the MiniMag away from bank cards, phones and other magnet-sensitive items, and store it in its own spot so it does not pick up steel chips.
