Sia 6783.7705.1000 Siaspeed 1950 5 Inch Disc, 1000 Grit
The Sia 6783.7705.1000 is a 5 inch Siaspeed 1950 hook and loop sanding disc in 1000 grit, sold 50 discs per box. Siaspeed 1950 is sia Abrasives’ all-round line for lacquer, hard and soft wood, primer filler, body filler, solid surface material and plastics. This 1000 grit disc is suited to refining clear coat, smoothing paint and lacquer and removing small defects before polishing.

Where 1000 Grit Fits
1000 follows 600 or 800 and leaves a scratch fine enough to polish out. Follow with 1500 for an easier polishing step. Do not skip more than one grit at a time. Each step should fully remove the scratches from the step before, or they will show through the finish later.

Automotive refinishers, cabinet and furniture shops, millwork shops and solid surface fabricators use the Sia 6783.7705.1000 on 5 inch random orbital sanders. It fits any 5 inch hook and loop pad. Because this disc has no holes, it suits sanders without through-pad extraction, or jobs where you want the full abrasive face in contact.
Tips for Better Results
At this grit, the finish matters more than the cut. Use light pressure and slow, overlapping passes. Clean the surface between grits and check it under good light. A guide coat helps show low spots and leftover scratches. Change discs before they load up, as a loaded disc can leave marks in soft finishes. Store boxes flat, dry and away from heat.
