The Dynabrade 58500 is the Dynabug II, a compact air-powered finishing sander with a 3 x 4-1/4 inch rectangular pad and a 3/32 inch orbit. It is built for control and fine finishes on wood, fiberglass, plastic and composites, and its rectangular pad reaches tight corners and edges that a round pad cannot.

Where It Fits

The rectangular pad sits flat into inside corners, along edges and on narrow parts such as stiles, frames and trim. The small 3/32 inch orbit gives a fine scratch, which makes the Dynabug II a good choice after a larger random orbital sander has done the main surfaces. Use a rectangular abrasive sheet sized to the pad, and work up through the grits as you would with any finishing sander.

Care and Air Supply Tips

Run the sander on clean, dry air and follow Dynabrade’s instructions for air pressure and lubrication. Drain the compressor tank and line filters regularly, since water and dirt in the air supply shorten the life of any air tool. Start the sander on the work, keep the pad flat and use light pressure so the random orbit can do its job. Check the pad face for wear, and replace a worn pad before it starts to tear abrasive discs or leave uneven scratches.
