Festool 205316 Edge Sanding Attachment for ETS/ETSC 125

The Festool 205316 is the AH-ES-ETS/ETSC edge sanding attachment, a guide that clamps onto an ETS 125 REQ or ETSC 125 sander and turns it into a guided edge sander. It holds the pad square and flush to the edge, so the sander does not tip, round over the corner or burn through at the edge.

Compatibility and Setup

The Festool 205316 fits the ETS 125 REQ and the ETSC 125 only. It does not fit the ETS EC 125, ETS 125, ETSC 2 125 or ES 125, so check the model plate on your sander before you order. Set the angle, fit the runner you need, then run the sander along the edge with the guide resting on the face of the panel.

Who Uses It

Cabinet makers, furniture builders, millwork shops and painters use an edge guide when edges have to stay crisp: door and drawer fronts, shelf edges, tabletops, edge-banded panels and primed trim. It also helps between coats, when an edge needs a light scuff.

Tips for Clean Edges

Use the hard runner on bare wood when the edge must stay at an exact angle, and switch to the soft runner on painted or filled edges. Keep feed pressure light and let the guide do the steering. Step through the grits one at a time without skipping more than one grade, and vacuum the surface between grits so loose grit from a coarser step does not scratch the finer one. Change the abrasive as soon as it stops cutting cleanly. A worn disc only polishes the surface and builds heat.
