The Festool 492127 mounts on the RO 125 FEQ ROTEX with the FastFix connection, so you can swap between a hard and a soft pad to match the job. Use the hard pad for levelling flat panels, sanding edges and working filler flat; use a soft pad for contoured parts and general finish sanding.

The firm face reduces the rounding that a soft pad can cause at the edge of a panel, and it keeps arrises and profiles on edge-banded panels sharp. Pair it with a coarser grit to level filler, then move to finer grits on the same hard pad before you switch to a soft pad for final sanding.
Tips for Long Pad Life
Check the hook and loop face before each job. When the StickFix hooks wear down, discs start to shift or fly off and the scratch pattern suffers. Brush dust off the pad, store it flat and away from heat, and never run the sander without an abrasive fitted, because the hook face wears quickly against the work.
