The Festool 494942 is a pack of 85 solid beech DOMINO tenons, size 10 x 24 x 50 mm, made as loose (floating) tenons for the Festool DOMINO DF 500 and DOMINO XL DF 700 joiners. Each tenon fits a mortise cut by the matching 10 mm DOMINO cutter, giving a strong, self-aligning glue joint for furniture, cabinetry and frame work. The 85-count pack is a practical size for a shop that uses this tenon on regular jobs or wants to keep it on hand.

Where This Size Fits

Use it for heavier casework, table aprons, door frames and other joints in thicker stock that need more glue surface than the smaller sizes give. Set the DOMINO depth so the two mortises together are slightly deeper than the tenon is long, and match the cutter diameter to the 10 mm tenon thickness. The tenons work in both solid wood and plywood.

Tips for Clean Joints

Dry-fit the first joint of a job before you glue. Put glue in the mortise walls rather than only on the tenon, then close and clamp the joint promptly. Keep the box closed and store tenons in a dry place so they do not take on moisture and swell, which makes them hard to seat.
