Festool 495718 FS-PA-VL Guide Extension
The Festool 495718 is the FS-PA-VL guide extension, a metal add-on for the FS-PA parallel side fence. It lets the fence cut very narrow panel strips on the near side of the rail, so you can rip repeatable strips without measuring and marking each one.

How It Fits the System
The Festool 495718 works only with the FS-PA parallel side fence (495717), which mounts on FS/2 and FS/2-KP guide rails. The FS-PA alone handles wide rips; the FS-PA-VL extensions take over for the narrow strips that the main fence cannot reach. Set the width once on both scales and every strip comes off the same size.
Who Uses It
Cabinet shops, furniture makers and finish carpenters use it for edge banding strips, face frame stock, drawer parts, fillers and shelf nosings cut from sheet goods with a track saw.
Setup Tips
Check the scale against a test cut before running a batch, then fine-tune it. Clamp the stops firmly so they cannot shift, and cut a spare strip when the width really matters. Keep the extensions with the FS-PA so the pair stays matched, and wipe sawdust off the scales so the readings stay easy to see.
