The Festool 577082 is the Festool DIA 47×2.5×6.35 T1 universal scoring saw blade, a 47 mm (1.85 inch) blade with a single diamond tooth and a 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) bore. It scores the underside of veneered and coated panels ahead of the main blade, so both faces of the cut come out clean and free of splinters.

How It Works

On the TSV 60 K, the scoring blade runs in front of the main blade and makes a shallow cut on the bottom face of the panel. That stops the main blade from tearing out the coating where its teeth exit. Because the tooth is conical, the scoring width can be set to match the kerf of the main blade, so the scored line and the main cut line up exactly. The diamond tooth holds its edge well in abrasive materials such as melamine and HPL.

Who Uses It

Cabinet makers, shopfitters, kitchen installers and furniture builders use a scoring saw when they cut finished panels that show on both faces, such as melamine carcass parts, veneered doors and laminate-faced shelving.

Setup and Care Tips

Set the scoring width with a test cut on an offcut and check both edges before cutting good material. If you see a small step or chipping on the bottom edge, adjust the scoring width until it matches the main blade. Keep the blade clean and free of glue and resin, unplug the saw before any blade change, and store the Festool 577082 in its packaging so the diamond tooth is protected.
