The Sia 1546.3150.0040 is a 6 inch (150 mm) Siaspeed 1950 hook and loop sanding disc in 40 grit with the 57-hole S-Performance pattern, sold 50 discs per box. Siaspeed 1950 is Sia’s paper abrasive for high stock removal, good surface quality and long life.

Where 40 Grit Fits
Use 40 for the first, heavy pass: stripping old coatings, shaping filler and leveling rough surfaces. Follow with 80, then 120 or 150, so the deep 40 grit scratches are fully removed before primer or finish.

Tips for Longer Disc Life
Let the abrasive do the work and keep pressure light and even, especially with a coarse grit that can dig in quickly. Keep the pad flat to avoid gouging edges, and clean the surface between grits so loose grit does not scratch the next step. Change the disc when it stops cutting, and store boxes flat in a dry place. Check that the hook and loop pad on your sander is clean and not worn, since a tired pad lets discs fly off or wrinkle.
