The Festool 491498 is the FS 1400/2, a 55 inch (1,400 mm) guide rail for precise, splinter-free straight cuts. Made from extruded aluminum, it works with Festool TS plunge-cut saws, routers and jigsaws, turning a portable tool into an accurate cutting system for sheet goods, doors and panels.

Setting Up a Cut

Mark both ends of the cut, lay the rail so the splinterguard edge sits on the marks, and press it down. The rubber strips hold it in place on most materials. For long or angled cuts, add FSZ clamps. The splinterguard is trimmed by the first pass of your saw, so it shows exactly where every later cut will land.

Care Tips
