The Festool 491504 is the FS 1080/2, a 42 inch (1,080 mm) aluminum guide rail for straight cuts and grooves. Paired with a Festool plunge-cut saw it gives precise, splinter-free cuts up to about 36 inches long, and it also guides routers and jigsaws with the right accessories.

Where It Fits

Care Tips

Store the rail flat or hanging so it cannot bow, and keep the rubber strips clean so they grip. Replace the splinter guard and grip strips when they wear to keep cuts accurate. Carry the rail by its middle and avoid dropping an end, since a dent in the slideway can show up in every cut. A rail bag protects the edges in transit.
