Festool 576070 ETS 125 REQ-Plus Random Orbital Sander
The Festool 576070 is the ETS 125 REQ-Plus US, a compact 5 inch random orbital sander made for fine and ultra-fine sanding. At 2.65 lbs (1.2 kg) it is light enough for one-handed use, so it handles vertical surfaces and overhead work as comfortably as a bench top.
Features and Specifications
- Sanding stroke: 5/64 inch (2 mm) for a fine scratch pattern and high surface quality
- Speed: stepless variable control from 6,000 to 12,000 RPM
- Vibration-Stop: the balanced VS system reduces vibration and operator fatigue
- Jetstream dust extraction: cleaner air, better finishes and longer abrasive and pad life
- Pad brake: stops the pad spinning freely, so it is less likely to mark the surface when set down
- StickFix: hook-and-loop abrasive changes in seconds
What Comes in the Box
The Festool 576070 kit includes the ETS 125 REQ-Plus sander, a 125 mm StickFix soft backing pad, an edge protector, a long-life dust bag and a 4 m plug-it power cable, all packed in a Systainer SYS3 M 187.
Where It Fits
The ETS 125 is the sander to reach for between coats and for final sanding on cabinets, furniture, doors and trim. Variable speed lets you slow down for heat-sensitive finishes and plastics, then speed up for bare wood. Connect it to a Festool CT dust extractor for near dust-free sanding in finished spaces.
Getting the Best Finish
Keep the pad flat and move it slowly in overlapping passes. Step through the grits one at a time, and vacuum the surface between grits so loose grit from a coarser step does not scratch the finer one. Change discs as soon as they stop cutting.
