Festool 576061 DTS 400 REQ-Plus Delta Sander

The Festool 576061 is the DTS 400 REQ-Plus, a compact delta sander built for precise sanding on small, angular and hard-to-reach surfaces. Its triangular 4 x 6 inch (100 x 150 mm) pad gets into inside corners, window frames, louvres and cabinet face frames where a round random orbital pad cannot reach.

What Comes in the Box

The Festool 576061 kit includes the DTS 400 REQ-Plus sander, a StickFix soft backing pad, an edge protector, a long-life dust bag and the Systainer SYS3 M 187 case. The edge protector helps keep the pad off adjacent surfaces when you sand right up to an edge, and the soft pad follows light profiles without cutting through.

How Shops Use It

Cabinet makers, furniture finishers and renovators use the DTS 400 for detail work after the main surfaces are done with a larger sander: inside corners of drawers and cabinets, stair spindles, trim, doors with raised panels and tight spots on painted work. Because it is light and compact, it is comfortable for long detail sessions and overhead sanding.

Getting the Best Finish

Let the sander do the work and keep pressure light, so the pad stays flat and the abrasive cuts evenly. Step through the grits without skipping more than one, and change the delta sheet as soon as it stops cutting cleanly. A worn sheet only polishes the surface and builds heat.
